Travel essentials

There are just some things I cannot live without, let alone travel without!

Especially as a solo traveller, you need to be prepared beforehand. Here are some of my personal favourites, and my list of must haves! Here i list what i deem essential. You can also visit my Amazon storefront where i have saved all my favourite products.

Money safe belts! Or a bumbag, whatever you name it. These are essential to keep all of your valuables on your person and close to you. where it on your front to stop people from targeting you.

It really doesn’t matter which brand backpack you get. Yes some are built better than others, so I do recommend investing and then it will probably last you years and years. But mainly focus on the size and design. I highly recommend getting one that opens fully like a suitcase. Also there are certain backpacks for women, as the straps focus on the hips, so it takes all the weight off of our backs and are built for a women’s body.

Packing cubes are the one thing I did not realise how much I needed them until I started living out of a backpack! They are the greatest invention.

Long haul flights are sometimes uncomfortable enough, especially if you get landed with the middle seat. A travel pillow is not a WANT, for me, it’s a NEED

A travel journal! Just imagine in fifty years time, you can read through all of your memories written by your younger self! My travel journal is one of my most precious possessions.

I always take a leather journal case for my travel plans. It’s always good to have something with you to plan, compare flight prices, write down itineraries etc. Plus these are reusable. Once you’ve completed one planner you just add the new one. Plus it has compartments to keep all your travel tickets for memorabilia

There are so many good quality tripods out there for a low cost! Worth every penny! The amount of good pictures I have whilst solo travelling thanks to my tripod. If your like me, I only like maybe 5 pictures out of 100, and asking a stranger to take 100 pictures is just a no go!

Trust me, it is not good when your out and about in another country and your phone suddenly dies! Especially if you’re not entirely sure where you are, or how to get back to your accomodation!

I highly recommend the mesh travel laundry bags! It’s stop’s the rest of your clean clothes from smelling whilst backpacking until you get them cleaned.

If you plan on staying in hostels, then a sleep eye mask is essential! Believe it or not, some people just turn the lights on whilst others are sleeping! Trust me, they are brilliant whilst travelling

Travel adapter have come a long way and most of them now offer worldwide attachment’s all in the one adapter. Along with USB and USB C ports for all devices. I recommend investing in one so it will last you during your travels. You can get a decent one for around £20. And then you’re not at risk of having to buy cheap whilst traveling and potentially ruining the batteries of your devices.

There’s nothing more freeing that putting in your headphones while on a 12 hour bus journey heading to another country. Playing something like ‘sweet disposition’ and pretending your life is a movie. You know you do it!!

If you’re heading somewhere with lots of water activities such as South East Asia, one of these are essential! the last thing you want to do is risk getting water damage to your phone, camera, or other valuables. They pack really tight too, so don’t take up to much in your luggage.

A quick dry towel is perfect for backpacking because it compresses up so small and they are super light in weight! A lot of hostels charge you for using a towel so it’s perfect for on the go as it dry’s out in no time

These are brilliant! No need to splash out on a go pro if it’s not in the budget. Pick up one of these for less than a tenner and get your underwater selfies and videos

There’s a reason this bag has gone viral on TikTok. It’s brilliant! All compartments have been designed for the traveler. it comes with about 20 different color options if pink isn’t your thing!

Essential to keeping your belongings safe! I advise getting the padlocks with the code, the ones that come with tiny keys are easily lost when on the move so often. You can buy packs of 2 so you always have a back up

Save the planet and save your budget. Take a water bottle and utilize the free drinking water provided by 95% of hostels!
